New Wolf Painting

My New Year’s resolution is to become more regular with blogging. So this week I will be adding the stages to a new painting I call “The Hunter”.

This painting is done on blue velour paper. I usually use grey but wanted to see how the blue worked underneath the wolf colors. There is also a good bit of snow and the blue should help with that.

I began with a pencil drawing and then used my Charcoal pencil to start a more detailed drawing. Here is step 1.
